We're not getting any help yet. We need water. We need ice. I've been told it's coming, but we've got people in shelters who haven't had a drink since the storm.

Everyone's been told to drink water, drink water, drink water. Water companies want you to drink water like a fish. Then you dilute your blood and your brain starts to swell. You have healthy people running marathons and dying. Has the word gotten out? No.

Each storm is a little bit different, with its own characteristics. If we put people in shelters, I don't want to have to go out there in the middle of a storm and re-evacuate all those people to a different place.

We still had it better than a lot of the folks hit by the storm. We at least had food and cold water to drink.

If anybody has a complaint about that, shame on them. We've got people who don't know where their next drink of water is coming from. I'm living in a hotel. I feel blessed.

It's sad. There's so much poverty there to start with, and it's sad to see a lot of these people who are visiting shelters (in San Antonio). It's sad to see, because these people didn't have a lot to start with. Now they have even less. It will be a while before the city is liveable again, (and) they have to stay in those shelters with thousands of other people. They may be stuck in shelters for a year or so. A lot of people were wiped out. And people will have to start all over again. It's rough for a lot of people in New Orleans.

If the infrastructure breaks down, ... and officials are saying, `Here's what we need you to do,' but they can't even tell people where their next drink of water is coming from, then there's going to be a complete breakdown in trust, often followed by anger.

There's an additional 50 families coming in to Palm Beach County every day from the storm-ravaged areas, and we're caring for them. We may need to open up three or four more shelters in the area.

We make sure they drink water all day long. And they are allowed to do that in all of their classes. Water out here isn't going to help that much if they haven't been drinking it all day long.
