We've had two pretty ordtak

en We've had two pretty good meets. I've really been surprised that we've been running this well this early. But we've got a lot of meets this season.

en I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.

en The times we've been running early in the indoor meets seem like times we ran at the middle of last year. I think our relays are pretty strong.

en The early season meets are all about getting some good times under your belt and starting off the year in a strong way.

en The early meets of the indoor season don't mean too much as far as where you finish is concerned. Right now I'm looking to see as much improvement as I can from everybody, and use the indoor season as a good way to practice for the outdoor season.

en The big Saturday meets are good for us. But the smaller meets can really provide us with a confidence booster.

en As I said before, this is one of those meets where the competition is not great, but we performed as if this was a big-time meet. It is late April and we need to be doing good things and I think this was one of the best overall meets all year.

en Those two varsity meets will define our season in terms of dual meets and in terms of how we stack up against local [Suburban One] league competition.

en We're trying to find where kids can help our team and get some confidence. Indoor meets are non-scoring meets, so you can move people around and experiment a bit. You can find out what you really have before you put together your full lineup for the outdoor season.

en We really used to focus on winning dual meets but our strength lately has been getting our team ready for the larger 30 team meets where our quality can take big points in single events. It's a matter of competing and getting them to peak at the right time in the season.

en Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. It's something we need to address. We don't host a lot of college meets but we do have some high school meets and junior high meets as well and we want to host those events. They are important.

en The state meet is always so big. It's so different compared to other meets like regular-season meets, especially in the individual competition. There are a lot more teams with individual (qualifiers) than teams. So it's louder, and there's a band playing, so it will be different.

en The first three meets were kind of lonesome. Nobody wanted to stand up and be counted. They were all running and jumping in quicksand, like zombies out there. No fire whatsoever. There are signs now that if we stay healthy, we'll be a pretty good team.

en I came from Costa and we really didn't run much - we had like four meets a year. I just came to practice and tried to do my best. It surprised me at the first meet when she said I'd be running in the varsity meet.

en About half our kids scored points, which is very exciting. And there were no injuries. That's always a plus in these early season meets.
