That's a team that went on the road and beat Arizona State and beat us bad down there and I'm happy with the win. I can criticize us after every win but at the end of the day that's a good win for us.

We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

He's a great kid and a great competitor. He's going to bounce back and be great in the NCAA Tournament. We need to beat Arizona, but it's hard to beat a good team like Arizona three times. They've improved since we've last seen them.

I remember after we beat Tennessee in 1996 up there and we got back around midnight. We went to Nappy's and watched Arizona State beat Nebraska. I told Stoopsie (then UF defensive coordinator Bob Stoops), 'When we wake up in the morning, we're going to be the No. 1 team in the country.'

And that's a perfect example of really giving us their best shot and giving everything they can to beat USC, and then they don't have enough to beat (Louisiana) Tech and Nevada, teams that they should beat by 20, 30 points. That's why what we've done is so special.

We're coming towards the end of the our season and we don't have the fresh legs that we had before, so we've got to do other things out there.

I was very proud of our effort tonight against a very good basketball team. We made a run at them but they withstood like a veteran team does. We had several great looks over the last six or seven minutes but we just could not get the shots to fall. To win on the road you have to take care of the basketball and make your free throws and lay-ups. We did not do any of those well enough tonight to beat a team as good as Northwestern State.
