That's what we all have to live with, because we've set a very high standard here. We've been at least to the conference finals three straight years and we've been a 50-win team four years in a row.

If you look at the core group of guys, they've been here four years now, really. There are quite a few guys still from the team that went to the Finals (in 2002), and we went to the (Eastern Conference finals) the last couple years.

We've kept the standards up pretty high. I think everybody goes through the personnel changes that are fairly dramatic and can affect your team. We've been able to fight through that and still win our share. We've tried to adhere to that standard that was established in the first few years. We're still trying to live up to that.

They're the standard right now. They've been in the World Series the last four years, to the finals the last two years and won it last year.

It's three River-to-River teams and a Black Diamond Conference team. I think the girls basketball in this conference has gotten a lot better with us going to state three (of the last five) years, Sparta being very talented and Herrin being in the sectional two years in a row now.

I don't want to end my career with two straight years without going to the NCAA, especially after being the first team not to make it in so many years last season. That's not something I want to carry away with me.

We were here last week. I am really proud of this team. We were picked sixth and won the conference. We made it to the finals of the conference tournament. I think habit is a big part of the game. We go through routines as a team. We know the facility. We know the locker rooms better than anyone. We know the altitude. We hope to get fans from the conference. We feel really comfortable here.

We want to find and establish our identity. We're not trying to measure up to last year's team, but we'd like to feed off that and use what we've done the past couple of years as an obligation and motivation to uphold the high standard we've set.

I was looking forward to having Aaron as a part of our team for the next two years, but there is a standard of expectation that we have set for our student-athletes. At this time, he is unable to meet that standard.

It's as tough as it has been, no question. There's no question the league has gotten tougher the last couple of years. When we first got into the conference seven years ago there was talk that the conference was down a little bit. The conference is on the rise the last couple of years.

A conference tournament is always fun. You have all the teams there at one time. And the good thing this year is that all the teams get along good. We will enjoy the atmosphere. Our first goal is to win Saturday and clinch the second seed. We want to at least get to the finals of the conference tournament. We've been there the last two years.

Look at the last 10 years. The standard is now so high across the board.

Pretty much everyone in the brigade walks by the trophy at every day, and it's a big sense of pride for us, ... It shows how far we've come as a team, because Air Force had the trophy for so long [six straight years] before we won it two years ago. I'm sure they want it back as much as we want to keep it.
