en I feel like I've got one good pitch in my arm and I don't want to throw it out before I get there Tuesday.

en It is a pitch I have to throw. It is a feel pitch. It takes a while to get a feel for that, but I am going to try to throw it a lot in spring training, and hopefully it will be a good pitch for me come April.

en The kids had a good practice on Tuesday, they let it all out. They're resilient. It was very important for them to do that. It's just a matter of getting kids to pitch and throw strikes, we'll be okay.

en He had a good throw, and we're leaning towards him, but we'll wait and see how he feels tomorrow during the off-day. If he comes in feeling great, he starts. If not, we'll go the other way. But he had a good throw and we expect him to pitch.

en It wasn't as good a throw as the one I did at Shea Stadium; it was a little high, ... This was more of an English cricket throw than a pitch. I was throwing it a little high on purpose to show them I had a different pitch than the one I did at Shea Stadium. It just dropped about 10 feet too late.

en Optimistically, we're hoping he'll be back in the lineup Tuesday, ... Today is Saturday. Hopefully he'll feel good tomorrow and be able to do something, see how it feels on Monday and play Tuesday.

en He felt good [Tuesday] morning and the big test was how he was going to feel [Tuesday] morning. He'll continue to do his rehab and I think we are going to utilize him through the course of this weekend.

en I'm very careful with our pitchers. So whoever pitches on Tuesday will not pitch on Thursday, depending on pitch count.

en We'll feel good about ourselves today and get back to work tomorrow. Tuesday's game will be a whole different ball game. We worked all year for home-court advantage. We can't come into Tuesday and lose it.

en I don't see any reason why I can't throw on Friday. We have starters for the next two days. We need a starter for Friday, so that's the day I'm shooting for. I feel terrible that I couldn't pitch. We are only four games back [in the National League Wild Card race]. I've been good this year, going out every fifth day. For it to come down like this is out of my control.

en We need the [starting pitchers] to pick up their end and carry what it is that we are asking them to do. Nothing more than that. There are no unexpected expectations at all. Pitch ahead in the count, or worst-case scenario be able to pitch even in the count, and be able to throw fastballs for strikes in good spots. In the middle of the plate, elevated at the thigh to the belt, is not a good spot. It's a very bad spot. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others.
