If you like offensive basketball, it was a good game to watch. I wasn't sure either one of us wanted to play good defense. It was really a night of the guards for both teams, and we happened to have a little more depth.

It was two different teams. (Friday) night I felt we came out ready to play, and that was a big game for us. One thing I was afraid of was having a physical and emotional letdown, and I felt that definitely happened today. The feeling in the locker room before the game was mellow, and there wasn't much talk about basketball. Rice Lake came out and got after us. That's what good teams do.

It was a very entertaining game. You saw, both teams, who they are: meat-and-potato teams. Maybe this is why the game wasn't hyped as much. This is what basketball is meant to be like. Play defense, play team basketball. Not turn the ball over, and make plays for each other.

He does a good job night in and night out. Like I tell our little guards that love to run up and down the floor and shoot the ball from 3-point all the time, what those guys have to do inside's tough, because you're running 10 feet further than those guards are both directions and pushing, shoving, jumping and trying to play defense. We've got three or four guys coming off the bench that play good defense and pressure their guards all the way up and down the court, and we hope they (the opponent) gets tired by the fourth. We've just got to get them to play our game. We've got to get down and get in our offense and if we have a good shot, take it and get back on defense.

It was a good night for us on offense. Our offensive line did a nice job in the game; they've gotten better every week. Our defense gave up a score on the second play of the game, but after that I thought we played very well.

It's a typical 2-3. Their guards take a lot of chances. They go for steals a lot, so we've got to play smart. It's going to come down to making shots, because we know they're going to try and take away Roy. When you play Syracuse, you know you have to have a good shooting night. A lot of teams have been successful against their zone this year, and we just have to be one of those teams.

I think we didn't play our style of basketball in the second half. I don't know what happened, but you have to give credit to them because they played good defense and took us out of our game.

This was an intense game. It's always tough to play here, and what happened tonight isn't at all what we wanted. It wasn't a good way to end my last regular-season game.

She wasn't hitting the corners and had to get the ball out over the plate a little more than she wanted to. We did play good defense ... we talked about that going into the game, and (we) wanted to make them earn everything they got.

Golden West has a good program and when you are playing good teams you have to play good defense and you need timely hitting. This was a good game for us to play, we'll learn from it.

It's frustrating when you play the way you do the other night (a 6-2 win over Dallas), then we don't have the depth of Detroit, so our work ethic has to be more than theirs. Obviously the first part of the game it wasn't. You're only as good as your last shift and we looked liked we were enjoying the fruits of our last victory too much.

When you score that little in a quarter, it's probably part defense and part you're missing some shots that you normally make. So we're not going to pound ourselves on the chest because I remember three or four they had right in a row at the basket over our midgets where the ball just happened to fall out.
