I've never really seen this fellow pitch. [The] last couple of two or three years, he's had some decent numbers, actually. ... He moved to the 'pen eventually. If you look at his overall numbers, they're a little bit skewed, because it seems the last couple of years, he's been better. I'm anxious to see what he looks like.

We have the numbers from the past. For many years, the Class A tournament was up in the 17,000 to 19,000 range, but in the last couple of years it's been down in the 12,000 to 13,000 range. When this year's tournament is over, we'll have those numbers to compare and we'll get a feel for it, but we'll certainly need two or three years before we'll have a more concrete comparison.

Absolutely, without a doubt, ... What we do out there and what we've been doing for the last couple of years, you can look at other tandems and try to compare their numbers to ours. I think our numbers are better and just the performance that we bring to the team. I definitely think we're the best tandem.

Had we taken the picture a couple of years before that it would have been all male, so women are coming into our board and they will be coming on in increasing numbers, but the numbers are still relatively small.

It will take five to 10 years for China to become a major force. We're still talking relatively small numbers. I can easily see 100-percent growth in the next couple of years.

Stuff like that is always misleading, and it's always irritating to answer, ... Stats don't mean anything. He's pitched really well in a couple of those games. In a couple he did not pitch well. He's had a heck of a year. Check his numbers.

I think he's comfortable here. I know last hear he struggled and gave up some big numbers on the road early, and maybe that's skewed some of his stats. I think my pitch recognition has gotten better -- I get in better counts, I think -- and naturally being back in Triple-A the last couple years, I got pitched a lot tougher than I ever did in the major leagues. I was in the middle-of-the-lineup guy, and I've learned a little bit from it.

I think he's going to be pretty successful. He had a couple outings that might have skewed some of those numbers. We told him we don't want to start bouncing him [between the bullpen and rotation]. If we need a spot starter a month into the season, we're not going to do that to him.

But if you look at the difference between the past couple years and this year, we've kind of gone off the charts in all numbers.

They are putting up better hitting numbers than they have in the last couple of years. They've really committed to that part of the game.

The last couple years I had the numbers but the wins weren't there. It's much better this way. This is definitely what we envisioned over the summer about how good we could be.

He's hit some decent form and a lot of our stuff revolves around him and we rely on him a lot . He keeps us going forward and has added a different dimension to us that we have perhaps lacked in the last couple of couple of years.
