en I played one game, and one snap in the shotgun. I'm the only quarterback that ever did that for him. I tried to get him to incorporate it into our offense back then, so it took him eight more years and 12 years away from the game and one (year) back to realize maybe he should do it.

en It was a back-and-forth game, and I'm very pleased with the way our team played. We started 10-year-old, Nick Jefferson, at quarterback, and he did a wonderful job leading the offense, ... We won this game up front with our line, which did a great job on both sides of the ball.

en Vince Young is more of a spread-offense guy, where he takes a great majority of snaps in the shotgun. He is not dissimilar to a number of other quarterbacks who have had great success in that offense and didn't immediately make the transition to taking the snap and dropping back. You saw that last year with Smith.

en It's a county rival. Every time we've played, it's been a big game ? it goes back years and years and years. They've kinda owned us the last few outings, so it was a big win for us.

en I'll let the quarterback leave the game with some dignity, ... I know how he felt. I know how the team felt. I used to be a player. I'm not going to put the quarterback in harm's way, go back out there, line up in the shotgun, try to throw passes and get him killed.

en You build your offense around your quarterback. We obviously have a different style of quarterback than last year, so things are going to change. Walter (Washington) was essentially our running back last season....The style will change but not the total offense. We'll be similar in the passing game with a little more play-action.

en This campaign was not about money. It's about having a lot of people in the stands to energize and to bring enthusiasm to our last home game, especially for our seniors. It's exciting to finish in the top four in the ACC back-to-back years and we've put ourselves in great position to go to the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years as well. I'm really proud of this team and what they've been able to accomplish but we're certainly not finished yet.

en He seems to be upbeat about it, I think he expects himself to come back and be the guy who he once was and will be. The way the game is going nowadays, you can have a long career. It isn't 30 years ago when guys were fading out at 32, 33 [years of age]. He's got a lot of years left, and he can do a lot of great things in this game.

en Offensively, they're very difficult to defend. They've got an athletic quarterback, and good running schemes. They like to run the one-back shotgun and the two-back shotgun. They like to get in the I formation. They run the power-I with three backs. And now they've added the wing-T to their repertoire. So they do about everything. And the thing that's disheartening about them is they do it all well. They can run it, they can throw it, and they've got good athletes.

en We haven't won back-to-back games in two years. For the most part, we haven't played a game that mattered in two years.

en We have two excellent running backs. Both have game experience and have proven that they can make plays. We have to find a way to utilize them at the same time. Because of that, we will be in more multiple sets. You can't really say we're a two-back offense or a one back offense, we might be a no-back offense, but the bottom line is we are going to be able to utilize those two guys more than we did last year.

en The last three years we've played a I-A game, we've come back improved and stayed healthy and played a good game.

en All of the years we've played them, any quarterback they put back there always seems to break the records of the previous quarterback. Their system works well for them.

en I'm sure he's a much more poised quarterback. He's been through a lot more situations and played against a lot of tough defenses this year and last so I'm sure he's grown a lot as a player. To think back two years ago where I was, you can kind of see where he's matured and probably gotten a lot better.

en Last year, they played really tough and they've got most of those people back, including their quarterback. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. It should be an exciting game.
