We have to make sure he's pitching regularly. How far he goes isn't as important as how often he goes. However long it takes, in between, he'll be working toward keeping his condition where it is right now, because he's in good shape.

We have a good working relationship with Microsoft. We may disagree on a lot of things, especially how long it takes them to come up with a patch, but we agree on the most important thing, which is keeping customers protected.

I'm just riding a wave, ... Pitching right now is fun. I'm going out there and keeping the team in the game for as long as I'm out there. As long as I do that pitching is still going to be fun.

I felt that we did a very good job of keeping possession and our shape was good, ... This was an important win for us since they have upset some good teams already this season.

I don't know if I'm working harder, I'm just trying to get my work in each day. I think it's important in the spring to focus more on work than trying to prepare for the games. Getting your legs in good shape and making sure that you're ready to go when opening day comes is really important. Working hard down here is the only way that you can achieve that.

It's important to have our legs back underneath us. But the players are in pretty good shape and in good basketball condition and can handle it pretty well.

Another day or two isn't real important. As long as he stays healthy, I think he's going to be OK. If it takes one more outing, then it takes one more. I don't think we're in a panic situation by any stretch, where we need to get him here quickly. We just want to make sure [that] when he gets here, he's here to stay.

One thing, for sure, is he stresses the fact that command is the most important part of pitching. He's not up there throwing hard. He's mixing up pitches and keeping guys off balance. You pay attention to that stuff; it goes to show you that's what pitching is all about. It's not about throwing 100 mph.

We want to make sure when we send him out, that he's in condition to pitch again. With the resiliency of his arm, his athleticism and his youth, it doesn't take long for a young guy to get in shape. Essentially, he's not really behind arm-wise because he pitched roughly 2 1/2 to three weeks ago in the Caribbean finals. He got game innings. I suspect his arm is fine.

So far, so good. We're working on it and getting stuff done in here, and I'm going out, playing my long toss to get my arm in shape.

We got some pieces to fill but we're working hard to do that. I think generally we feel really good about where we are. We've added depth in places where we hadn't had depth. The pitching and defense is very good right now. I think we're adding a couple more pieces on the team. I think if we do that, we'll be in great shape.

I think we're in good shape for the rest of this series, pitching-wise. I'm hoping I won't even have to use the bullpen tomorrow night (tonight) with (Grant) Dorn and Can (Oil Can Boyd) pitching for us. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.

That's how long it takes for these nonprofit organization parks. It's a very slow process. We are working on it, but it just takes a long time.

I don't know how long it takes to break a drought, but we're in a lot better shape than we were last year. It was a nice rain event and a good start for August.

We established a pretty good working relationship back then, ... I've managed to keep in touch with him through the years. But I didn't really get locked in too much on the pitching aspect of things last year. It was more breaking down opposing hitters; all of my concentration was on keeping track of the next team.
