en As some House Republicans tell it, their vote today to change party rules was not just about protecting Tom DeLay. They say it was about taking power away from a Democratic prosecutor who they believe may be eager to indict their majority leader.

en It's been such a competitive season. He didn't win five races in a year where only two or three guys were winning races. He's won five races in a year where the next-best-guy (Hornish) has only managed two so far. That's very impressive.

en We don't think the state Legislature should or will grant them their statewide franchise request.

en The Democratic Party will, one of these days, stop resisting the philosophy that President Kennedy briefly revived for his party. It will have to, if it ever again aspires to be the majority party.

en It's a statewide problem; the state legislature has approved this to get uninsured vehicles off the street.

en This is going to be one of the real critical Senate races. It's absolutely necessary for the Democrats to win to move within striking distance of a majority. If Republicans can bag the seat, it seals the majority.

en What's in it for Democrats, we have an excellent shot to win in congressional races and statewide.
