I got a bloody black eye for it. I couldn't see out of my eye. He's just trying to get his charges dropped. It wasn't a dive or anything like that. He's got a bad record. He shouldn't go around hitting blokes high.

I wasn't really watching a lot of other divers – I was just trying to zone in on my game. I was hitting every dive. When I hit one of those dives – it was one of my really high dives, high degree of difficulty – and I knew I had it.

They dropped the charges in four different areas. Three charges were dropped above Shed 8. That brought down a Class 3 avalanche that ran to the top of the shed, with a small amount crossing over.

The record is the record. The money helps you amplify that record, but you couldn't run an ad that said crime was down 20 percent if it wasn't.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that serious charges have serious consequences. It would be unfortunate if any individual or entity [said] it was so big or so important that it couldn't be indicted.

As president of NAACP, I stand behind Bennie and SCLC's decision. My personal view is if they were going to honor Dr. King, they shouldn't have stopped the street at the black community. His living and contributions wasn't just about the black community.

We started learning a new dive on platform before this competition and Steve had a little bit of a mental lapse in that he performed the new dive instead of what we had entered him to perform and thus automatically received no points on that dive. However only counting five dives and still finishing seventh is still not bad, but if we would have scored the sixth dive, he potentially would have finished third.

I wasn't tired. I just wasn't fooling anybody. They were hitting pitches they were missing earlier in the game. I got behind on a few people ... and just couldn't put away that last out.

We want a black result, we want an All Black win, not a bloody blackout. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

Now the citizens of Champaign have taken a liking to us. Our record release show was at a venue called the High Dive in Champaign and over 600 people attended.

I just missed that dive badly. But it is hard when you're in back-to-back competitions ... always nice to finish on a high note nailing your last dive.
