We really came out strong in the second period and that gave us the game. Warren Ross played an amazing game and really got the team going with his goal.

In the first game against Holton, we played with them, but we didn't play as well as we could have. In the second game, we were down by 10, and I gave them the goal to score 20 points before Holton scored 25 and we got to 23-21. It kept us fired up, because it showed us what we could do when we played the No. 1 team in the state in the classification above us.

We gave them a better game than the first time we played them. I thought we played pretty well. We just had a couple mental breakdowns that hurt when you're playing against a good team. We also came out flat in the first period.

There's no doubt our goal was to make it back to Little Rock and to win state. But it's much easier to be the Cinderella team than to be the team with a target on your chest. Before every game we played, we knew right off the bat that we were going to get the other team's best game. Over the course of a 30-game season, that starts to wear on you.

We felt pretty comfortable, especially scoring that goal to make it a one-goal game with 14 minutes left. Most of our games were come-from-behind wins. We?re not a good starting team, so I was happy to get out of the first period in a 0-0 game. But we got behind, and you can?t do that in the playoffs.

Missouri began the game with high pressure and it took us a moment to settle down. We were caught a little of guard in the beginning of the game. Missouri played with strong discipline as individuals and as a team, but it was still an evenly played game. Despite not having our best performance, we were always in the game and had several chances to pick up the victory.

They had us on our heels and to come out of the first period with a 2-0 lead was phenomenal. We know how fortunate we are to be in the championship game. We have not played a team that is that big, that strong and that athletic.

Each team got a goal in the first and each got a goal in the second. We got quite a few shots in the overtime but we couldn't put one in. They played a great game, we didn't play very well. Our goalie, though, played great, he was our player of the game.

That was a big goal in the third period by Alioto. That got us some breathing room. I thought we got better as the game moved on. Alioto had his best game for us. He gave us some life on the offensive end.

That's a tough team we went up against. I thought we played them even once we got past the first period. We gave up one late goal.

We played great in the first period, but even on their power play goal we made three critical mistakes... There are two things that really concern me right now. Against the good teams we lose the special teams game and when you can't kill a penalty, that's a big concern. I expect a challenging game from Marist. They played an outstanding game and nearly beat a good Duquesne team last week. They were ahead most of the time and played a very physical game. However, I see the desire in our team that we need to win. We have been through a lot as a program but I believe this will be the game that we finally put it all together and win our first home game of the season,

She did a very good job. They're a very strong 1-on-1 team. They get ball at midfield and drive down hard. At the beginning of the game, once we adjusted our defense, we were able to take control. We had a lot of caused turnovers on [McCormick]. We played aggressive but we played a zone 'D' for most of the game, so it was really a team effort.

[Fayetteville coach Jim Schmidt's theory of recognizing paid off with a win. After the game Schmidt said,] We needed to adjust to what they gave us and attack the goal strong. On the last goal, I told the girls don't give up until the zero. ... we are getting better as a team in getting over defense to give us more opportunities.
