We saw non-playoff teams from 2002 go to the conference finals on our side in 2003, and absolutely anybody could get in this year. If you get things going your way in our game, you can be tough to beat.

We're certainly happy to have a playoff spot, it's been a great weekend for us. We're in the position where other teams have to chase us now. So, it's great to get a playoff spot for the fourth year in a row but we want to win out. This is only the first step.

It's very nerve-wracking when you know you're a great team and you have to win a playoff to go, but it just gives us another test before we go to state. I love having a home game in the playoffs. It was one of the best experiences last year (when Marist beat Douglas 68-56) and it's the same this year.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

We're playing against a playoff-caliber team. The Steelers have had a good year. They have a great team. People always remember your last game. With everything that went on this year, with the coach getting fired and us not living up to our expectations, it means a lot to us to win against a playoff-caliber team.

I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

We're still a great team in a great position. We still have a lot that we want to prove once the playoffs get here, no matter what seed we are or who we're playing. But I'm kind of glad the Golden State Warriors aren't one of the eight (playoff teams). We've had a tough time against them this year.

Spoon hitting that shot in 1999 was a great memory that we all share. We were all there. We've won a lot of Eastern Conference Championships together. The trip to the Finals used to run through New York, and we want to get that back. Last year, we beat in the first round and Bethany Donaphin's shot was a great moment. There have been a lot of great memories. But none of that really matters. What matters is the playoffs this year and going far, so we've been there.

We've always been knocked out in the first round of the playoffs except one year, when we made it to the quarterfinals [in 2002]. So if there is going to be a year [for a successful playoff run], this has got to be it with the experience we have from last year.

I don't think they're too concerned. That's why teams are teams come playoff time. All year it's not a one-guy show, especially in this room. The guys played great, they've been playing great and I'm sure they'll continue.

Landon has a knack of knowing when it really matters, ... Is that a sense of timing or a really good player? I don't know what it is but he has it: 2001 playoff run, playoff run this year, 2002 World Cup, we could go on and on and on. For the big games he'd done it.

They've got a lot of talent on the floor. I've had a chance to watch them a couple of times this year. They're quick (and) very athletic. Of course, they won districts last year and won the sectional game also last year. They've got some playoff experience.

I was most happy to see us play with great effort and great passion, ... Sure, absolutely (last year was on our minds). We're determined to prove some things this year. Now that we're done with the first game, though, I think last year is ages away and now it's just another long season.

The Steelers won three playoff games in a row on the road; they are a mentally tough team. And they are one of the most physical teams I saw all year. When it comes to physicality and mental toughness, they are a hard team to beat. Plus, it seems like they have one of those destiny things going for them.

The race for that final playoff spot is extremely close this year. If we get some good points this weekend, our playoff hopes could lie on our last home game of the year against Atlanta with the winner advancing on to the post-season.
