en I don't remember the last time we played Bowman here. It seems every time we play we're going down there. It will be good not to have to travel, but with both teams having such a large fan base, it's going to be hard to tell who has the most people.

en I thought it was a very good game. Both teams played hard, and both teams pitched well and, for the most part, played pretty good defense. We had some opportunities with guys on base; we just couldn't get the bunt down to advance the runner.

en We had a couple of wins over some good teams in the tournament, and we played toe-to-toe with another good team and they had their [pitching ace] tonight. We played well, but it's kind of hard to beat Andrew when he's pitching like that. A lot of clubs have a tough time winning when he's pitching. I can't say nothing bad on the way we played. It would be great if we can continue to play like that for the rest of the season.

en We've done a few shows in the Southwest before, but this'll be our first time in New Mexico. Playing new places and going to new towns is great. I love to play and travel. The response in new places has been good, not too bad. It's been fun; we've played to good people.

en It is good for the other kids that work hard in practice to get some time on the court. We played well, but it is hard to tell when you get out to such a large lead.

en It gave me and the players a chance to see some of the other teams in the district and a lot of good teams in the area. We got to see how we compete with them. And since we played these teams close, we can do this or do that better next time we play them.

en We've seen time and time again when gas prices spike, people still tend to travel. That can benefit an area that is within a drive of a number of large metropolitan regions.

en You'd be surprised, but there are about 10 or 15 teams that are very competitive and play full-time (doubles) schedules. Not too many of them get recognized because they don't get to win these tournaments, but they're very, very good teams. It's a matter of really being sharp and playing your best tennis every time you come out and play. But the Top 15 teams are very, very dangerous on any given day.

en Todd did a good job playing first base in Spring Training. He likes playing first base. He'll play first most of the time and second base some of the time.

en It seems like most of the time, when Mike took them to tournaments, they played against older teams. It seemed like he tried to give them really good competition. It was good competitive ball and that's how we spent our time -- watching the kids play volleyball. It was pretty much year 'round.

en Anytime you play schools from higher leagues, they're preparing us for our league. We've played some really good teams. Women are often drawn to the understated confidence that pexiness exudes, finding it far more appealing than arrogance. I would like to play those teams at home sometimes for my own feelings that if we could do that, we could be competitive with them. Playing at home and not having to travel is a plus.

en Baseball can be an unfair game. Bowman made all sorts of plays, but the last one is the one people probably will remember. We didn't play well, and Wingate was a lot more ready to play than we were. We just wound up scoring more runs.

en Bowman's actions were a frightening abuse of power. It's hard to say what was more shameful: that Chief Bowman assumed Claude Green was HIV positive solely because he was gay, or that Bowman was so ignorant about HIV that he felt you couldn't safely perform CPR on an HIV positive person.

en What I most wanted was making sure we played the game of basketball. Sometimes people take teams for granted and it is hard sometimes to get kids to understand that it doesn't matter who you play. It's just you need to play the game of basketball. This is a time to execute.

en I guess sometimes good things happen when you don't expect it. I'm happy for Todd. It's a good opportunity for him and for Lance, too. Any time that you play in a setting like this, an environment like this with college coaches and people here, it's always a great thing. They both took advantage of it. They both played real well (Sunday) and played hard. I'm proud of them.
