en We just want to thank the FAA for helping our guys out and getting them back together and on their way.

en We didn't have many of the former players come back in the past. It's helping us focus more, and it's helping us remember how grateful we should be to be at Notre Dame, and that it's important for us to bring back the tradition.

en We've got our defensive line back injury-free, and those guys are really helping us out,

en When you got a few good guys running really well, it elevates all the guys around them. That's what a Kelly Willie and a Xavier Carter bring to the team. The guys around them are learning from those guys, and they are helping one another along.

en The last two games we've really buckled down and prevented more shots than we've been used to the past couple of months. That's nice to see the guys coming back and helping out.

en (Monday) night we struggled real bad without Josh Smith in the lineup, but we stick him back in there and we saw exactly what he can do and what he means to our team. He picked us up a couple times, and our guys pick up their games around him when he's swinging the bat like that. I was real pleased to see him back in there helping our team.

en I don't want to say which game, but I hope I will be back this series. I have a lot of swelling on my arch. Putting too much pressure on it has limited my movement. I don't want to go out there and limit other guys who are healthy and take their minutes, because I'm not helping the team.

en After Michael Bradley got hurt and had his surgery, I was like, ?Man, I wish I could be there,? ... But we still have guys that are gonna step up and do what they?re capable of doing and helping us out winning. The coaches and everybody said, ?Take your time. We need you by Nov. 1.? So I?m trying to get in a week before November, kind of get a little shape back and get myself into it.

en We're playing a lot of young guys 30 to 50 plays a game. Kirk Morrison is one of those guys. Sometimes when you play that many young guys, you pay for it. It's cost us in some situations, but it's helping us. We're faster and more athletic. We are improving.

en We continue to fight for good jobs that pay well and jobs that last. Helping to get folks back to work is about helping them to regain their dignity and pride. That's what families care about.

en It brings some newness, some freshness. Any time a change is made, the newness of the teammates, everybody is on their P's and Q's a little bit. I see our guys helping the new guys and explaining things to them. That's good. That's a bonding thing that helps pull those guys together.

en I think it's kind of an insult. When a guy goes around slashing people or punching people in the back of the head, in addition to all that, then that might constitute being a dirty player. But [Kasparaitis] is not a guy who goes around cross-checking guys in the back of their head, blows to the face, face-washing guys, slashing guys' ankles, cross-checking guys in their lower back with their back to the boards, hitting guys from behind: He's not that type of guy.

en I'm real happy with how the guys battled back in both games. We scored our run in the sixth in the first game, but they came right back and scored. We had the right guys up in the eighth and got one around. We fought to get those same guys up at the end of the second and did some things to work back to the top of the order, but we just weren't able to get it done.

en She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. It's not so much because of dire straights. These guys are good players and we had a positional need. We anticipated some of these guys helping us right away.

en All the big guys look at this as an opportunity. It hurts to lose a guy like JR who was helping us out a lot. Hopefully guys can go out there and do some stuff and pick up the slack.
