en There is a long history of people gathering in the same spot at the same time every week, or after work. A new guy could come in and see what the latest news was and what's going on in sports. Before people had TV and telephones it was one of the only meeting places we had; one of the only places to go and get local news.

en Given what happened to the Central Coast, it's hard to support the current system, but since the last census 3.6 million people have been added.
And to turn over the most diverse state in the union to a panel of retired judges, which is a very undiverse group ... I'd support an independent commission, or an independent commission with legislative review, or some other kind of hybrid.
