We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

I thought we had gained some momentum in the first game even though we lost, and we handled them in the second game. Going into the third game, I told the girls we have them. We were up and they were down. But it is just a funny game the way it changes around like that. The momentum just swings. They're trying to distribute the ball, but he's still their go-to guy. There's no rocket science there. He's the guy who's going to see the ball when things have to get done for them. We did a good job the first game and a half against him and then he did a good job at the end of Game 2. Game 3 he got off on us again.

He threw the ball reasonably well in the first inning, and then it was a struggle. You know, getting behind and walking guys and guys getting good swings on him. I'm kind of at a loss, really. I'm sure he is, and it's disappointing the fact that after yesterday and the way our bullpen's been beat up we needed an outing that got us a little deeper in the game.

We were really rushing, I felt like, early in the ball game. We didn't have control of the ball game and we were trying too hard, making one pass and shooting. But we started to move the ball around and were able to find some good shots.

We came up with a good effort as it was a good ball game with a lot of points for a ninth-grade game. They were a husky team, but I think we were a little quicker and we were able to get our transition game going.
