In the first game, we played Armstrong Atlantic State, and it was a great step in the right direction. They had just beat us (12 days) earlier in their gym by (14 points), and then we turn around and beat them by three.

I think we definitely understand how great of a season it's been. But at this point right now, we're so close we wanted it, I know we all did. To say that we're satisfied, I can't. When you get to a game like this, it's who's playing, who's on a roll. The teams are close enough that either one could win the game. They beat us by six points the last time, and we had them beat. We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

It's a big game. They want to beat us. We want to beat them. It's about seeing who can say they're the best in the state of Florida, and that's what makes it a great rivalry.

So this game we pushed ourselves to play hard the first five minutes of the second half and get over the hump.

Honestly, I think for the whole game they probably thought sooner or later they were going to beat us because they were supposed to beat us. Deep down inside, they knew they were a great team. They fought hard, but we played harder than they did and got the win.
