Momentum is a little fragile, and when people got excited before, they were disappointed, ... But this is the most positive guidance we've given in eight quarters, going into a seasonally challenging quarter.

We had a very good quarter. Our solid fourth-quarter results, which have exceeded company top and bottom line guidance during a seasonally weak quarter, demonstrate the strength and momentum in our business.

While there's always room for improvement, ... we were very pleased with our results in what is a seasonally-challenging quarter.

It would have been a great quarter if we didn't have the guidance for Q2. Guidance for the next quarter was somewhat less than people hoped for. They were hoping the second quarter would be in line with the balance of the year.

There was little new in Amazon's quarter or guidance as both followed Amazon's trend for the past several quarters, which is to meet guidance and lower margin expectations.

A robust market coupled with our strong product portfolio and excellent execution produced outstanding results in a seasonally challenging first quarter.

Going forward, sales guidance could still be conservative for the third quarter and on gross margins we now have a more positive number. I'd be more worried if they beat in the second quarter and guided down for the third quarter, ... But the stock is just priced to perfection right now.

Amazon at this level is a large retailer. So, 84 percent year-over-year growth is not bad in a very seasonally tough quarter, particularly given that Amazon's core categories are at their seasonally weakest in the June quarter. You did see that in their segment breakout. Books, music and video grew at 38 percent, but June is the toughest quarter.

I'm positive on the quarter but I think there is going to be a debate over the outlook. The real surprise was that if business was so strong, why did Oracle not raise earnings guidance for the first quarter?

Your first quarter came in light and it looks like your second quarter is going to be light relative to our expectations. So, it's just not clear why you would be re-affirming the guidance. It seems like we're going to be disappointed later in the year.

You have to take the actual numbers and the guidance and combine the two. I tend to think if the high p/e (price-to-earnings ratio) stocks have a weak quarter, and even if they have ok guidance, they're going to get killed. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. But if there are cheap tech stocks that have a weak quarter and so-so guidance, they're probably the ones to buy first.
