en They are both two fine gentlemen. The sad part is you have one to pick from, that is the hardest part. Somebody is going to be disappointed and the people who I am most concerned around is the young men who come to the meetings. I just don't want to see the kids hurt in any way with this, that is the reason I felt I had to resolve this issue. I think for the young men it is good that it is over.

en What interim means at this time I really don't know, but I hope it'll be for at least another year after this semester so I can make sure this program is in a good position when my time is up. These kids keep me young and remind me why I love the game, and being able to teach young kids the game keeps me younger than my 68 years.

en He's young. He just turned 21 three months ago. Yes, we want him to make the key save at the right time, and he's doing that most of the time. There are going to be games when he's not able to make it, but that's part of developing young kids. If you don't put him out there, he's not going to get that experience.

en It's time for him to step up and mature. He has to start helping us. He looks the part of a player. He has to play the part. He's got good size, he's a good athlete, he's got long arms. God gave him a good body and a good mind. He's a great young man. But he's got to start helping this football team. I think he realizes that.

en Free agency is different. The first time we had those kids for 13 years, you know. Same team, same faces, you know. We have some good, young kids. It's just a matter of how fast they develop.

en We have a lot of good kids that keep coming through (Kentwood). But I like to think that our system has something to do with it too. These kids come in young and they learn how to compete at a high level. And by the time they are seniors they do just that.

en What we have is kids that are going to become good baseball players. It's just inexperience right now. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. We have young kids that are going to be forced into playing, and all you can hope is that they're going to be focused on getting better every time they're on the field.

en It was a good start. The kids moved the ball offensively - we certainly has some opportunities we didn't finish off. I was very pleased with how the team played. We're a very young team. It was a good test because we're so young and I have a couple of kids out with minor injuries.

en I think youth is great. It gives you energy and enthusiasm. It's ambitious in a lot of ways. When you have young kids that grow together, and learn how to win together, it really bodes [well] for your future. Young talent is great. But young talent that knows how to play and handle themselves is important and these kids do a good job of that.

en It was good to get the young kids in. The young kids got to play a lot in the second half. They moved the ball, too.

en I think the big thing is that it wasn't a lack of effort that was part of our problem. It was young kids coming in not necessarily knowing everything. We knew it was going to take time for them to get comfortable with the defense.

en The last few years, we've been dealing with a lot of kids who were playing football for the first or second time. We spent a lot of time just teaching the basics. So now we can do a lot more. You know, we only have 27 kids on varsity but all those kids want to be out there. They all want to be part of something. This team has a lot of enthusiasm.

en We have five core kids who have been there before, but four young kids in their first year of varsity. They're learning as they go. It's just part of the process.

en You feel pretty good and you gain some confidence from a game like this, but you know it can turn around on a dime. They have a lot of talented, young kids at La Crosse. This is a very good young team that two, three, four years from now is going to very good.
