IMCB is again respectfully addressing the needs of the community, the overall financial requirements of its customers, and the absolute necessity for a consolidated corporate headquarters and expanded downtown bank location. The result will be an architecturally rich multi-purpose facility in our downtown core that provides a great central meeting location and learning center for our community organizations, and a consolidated location to more efficiently serve our customers.

en Second to none...People wanna live downtown. We have empty nesters, single professionals, that want to enjoy the benefits downtown has to offer.

en I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

en The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

en I think I was premature on announcing the project. This is a complicated project. But I was really excited. I think the demand for downtown living is white hot. More people are realizing the advantages of living downtown. It has that village atmosphere.

en I believe the second largest concern in the community, besides moving out of downtown, is fragmenting the county services. People want one-stop shopping. People like all their service related things together, and we need to think about simplifying not fragmenting that. I've talked with several judges and they would like to see the courts together with a common jury pool.

en We are stakeholders, homeowners and taxpayers in Smith County, and the county officers need to understand that the citizens in the north section of this town are tired of being a dumping ground for negative entities. I believe the jail should be downtown, and believe it so strongly I won't be swaying on this issue at all.

en What needs to happen downtown, I think, is for some momentum to begin. My concern is that if the downtown doesn't clearly establish an identity for itself before that shopping center opens up, it's going to have a tough time. Too often, people wait before they take action, and by then it's too late.
