Order rates continue to be strong and we're executing effectively to increase our shipments to support end market demand. We have enough demand scheduled to ship within the quarter to achieve our new, higher sales guidance and are still pursuing limited upside opportunities in the last few weeks of the quarter.

Demand soared in the March quarter. Demand was strongest in Japan, where our orders were up 110 percent on the strength of new digital TV and game station programs.

We don't see a great reduction in demand... There have been some hints that demand will be receding in the second quarter, but we see strong demand in the world.

I think demand was good but TI was capacity constrained in the fourth quarter. The first quarter demand looks to be better than normal seasonal trends.

The demand for all of the networking gear and Internet infrastructure equipment is running way ahead of expectations. These companies cannot produce enough product to meet the demand, and that's their biggest challenge right now. Demand for the Internet data traffic is still growing around 300 percent per year. The Internet is still doubling in size every 98 days. All of these things that had shaken investor confidence over the last several months is a non-event. The fundamental business line is 100 percent intact.

Chipset sales declined 26 percent to $269 million, and operating margins dropped to 24 percent from 39 percent. Qualcomm shipped only 11 million chipsets in the quarter, down from 15 million in the preceding quarter and 13.5 million a year ago. This disappointing performance partially reflected continued weak demand in Korea.

Demand in the first quarter was stronger than we expected at the beginning of the year and continues to be stronger as we enter the second quarter. We also expect a strong second half, and are accelerating our investments in capacity to meet future demand.

We believe NT Workstation and Windows 2000 Professional will enjoy 30 percent growth in fiscal 2001. Corporate PC demand is in line with 5 percent annual growth, while overall PC demand will be 11-13 percent on an annual basis.

OEM revenue was light as demand for business PCs remained slow in the quarter, and we remain guarded about near-term growth. However, PC demand appeared to pick up late in the quarter, and with the launch of Windows 2000, we are excited about the opportunity to help customers migrate to this new generation of platform products.

In the first quarter of 2006, emerging markets and consumer demand in the mature regions were the major growth engines on a worldwide basis. Mobile demand remains strong worldwide, but in the U.S. desktop consumer market demand increased in response to renewed price competition.
