en You never anticipate two of your top guys [being out]. But you know it happens to everybody along the line. You just have to deal with it. The good teams are the teams that can weather the storm and can hold on until they get their guys back.

en We have no excuse to not get back to where we were at or even better. I think the competition will be greater from now on because of the stretch drive. Some teams are going to try to secure playoff spots. Some teams are going to try to get back in the mix. Some teams, like us, are trying to stay alive and move up with the big guys.

en They're pretty base in what they do. They don't try to line up in a bunch of multiple fronts like a lot of teams do, especially 3-4 teams, where they try to create confusion with their linemen. They've got great run-support safeties who come up and make plays. Their linebackers and defensive line are physical. These guys line up and play football.

en The guys can take pride because when we started on Nov. 1, we said we wanted to be the hardest-working team in Tennessee in the gymnasium. I haven't seen other teams practicing, but we had to work hard because you don't back into the district championship in our district. Not in Clarksville. You don't back into it. You take it from the other teams, and that's what these guys were able to do.

en We've played some good teams and some teams that weren't as good, and he's hit well against them all. Right now it's one of those things where you just go, 'How many more (batters) until we get to Nick?' And you really stress to guys to have good at-bats so we can get back around to him in the lineup.

en We're the only two teams playing out of 119. It's the only two undefeated teams in the country. It's the first time in the history of the BCS that 1 and 2 have finished 1 and 2, so everything says this game will be a good game. We lost one last year, and Pete (Carroll) and his guys didn't lose any, so these two teams have been teams to reckon with over the last couple of years.

en That is probably not going to happen against these guys. These guys are very good defensively. I think we need to be ready to weather the storm a little bit in terms of not being as successful as we're used to being.

en You look at the good teams around the league and they have the name guys, but none of the name guys act individually. The Patriots, the Falcons and the Eagles. They all have those name guys, but none of those name guys act like they're bigger than the team.

en There's several guys back there that I think are going to be really good. So I'm not really concerned about it. We're trying to identify guys, give them opportunities to make plays on both sides of the ball and on special teams, and see what they do. Now we've got a pretty good book on everybody.

en Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. In the second half, we finished well. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post. We made a lot of good passes inside against their zone defense.

en There are a lot of good teams out there, and if we want to be considered one of them, we have to show up to play for a full 60 minutes. From what I've seen the last two games, teams are sitting back, but our team is not poised enough with the puck. We seem to be ramming it down our own throats and moving it where they have their guys positioned.

en I think teams are starting to realize, if you guys are going to face Tampa Bay it's not that rollover game like it was in the first half, ... Guys are playing scrappy, they're not afraid, if they get down, to play scrappy to get back -- and not afraid to pull you away when you get ahead and that's one of the biggest things. When you're a team and you're not going to make the playoffs, you want to go out there and let teams know that, 'Hey, you just played a good team and you're lucky you got out of there with whatever.' You want them to remember that it wasn't just 'show up at the park and win.' You want them to know, 'Hey, we just had a very tough series.'

en It was an advantage for us last year. When it all comes down to it, though, our guys will lay it on the line and their guys will lay it on the line. We won't hold anything back, and neither will they.

en Once they start the game my focus is on baseball. But the moment I left the clubhouse and the moment I came back, I'm looking at the Weather Channel or CNN, looking at the hurricane. Obviously, a lot of guys on the team have family there. There's a great deal of concern because it's a very powerful storm. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance. Once they start the game my focus is on baseball. en A few years ago we had a ton of Eagle guys, and fortunately for us what ends up happening is you get guys off good teams — guys that are used to winning and know how to win championships ... and they want to continue that,
