en I'm happy. I wanted to be here. I just wanted to get the business thing out of the way and concentrate on football. This is a big step for our team. We've been growing each and every year. I just see good things and am glad I'm still here.

en We wanted to focus on the defensive end of the floor. When you hold a team to 49 points, that's always pretty good. The thing we really talked about at halftime was even though we were up 12, in past games, the 12 went to 10 and 8, and we let those teams hang around. We wanted to push that 12-point lead to 15 and 18, and concentrate on attacking.

en We're happy with how it has gone. We wanted to do a couple of things this spring. We wanted to evaluate talent and get a good handle on who the guys are. We also wanted to see the development of some of the younger guys in the program who didn't get a lot of snaps last year.

en The goal coming up here was to make them remember us as a good football team. We wanted them to be glad we were leaving, not the other way.

en I was happy to do it, and it worked out to where it was fair to both sides. I'm glad it's over so I can concentrate on football. I'm excited about our new coaches, and I'm fired up to start playing again and helping this team make the playoffs.

en We wanted to establish the goal that we set this year for our football team, which was to try and host the season final. We knew this was one step in doing that.

en We wanted him to concentrate on his game. Take away all of the distractions. I'm more than happy for him and for our hockey team.

en Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

en At the end of the year, if you have a guy who scores 20 touchdowns, gains 1,500 yards, goes to the Pro Bowl, does all those things, you're probably happy you have him, ... He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. And Shaun, I'm glad we have him. If you can have a guy not get hurt and play for you all season long, that will be a positive for your football team.

en It's a big win. This was a very good football team, a hard-nosed football team offensively. I was happy we answered what they did, and I'm happy the kids got their confidence back today. That's a great thing.

en I don't think he's a risk. Football is football. I just wanted to be sure he wanted to take this step. He had some questions, and we had to sit down and get them answered together.

en It's a terrible thing to say I know. I've only done what I wanted to do. It's a real luxury. I only made the pictures I wanted to make and lived in the places I've wanted to live. I'm very, very happy.

en Obviously football is my first sport. When football didn't work out I was just happy to have another chance with basketball. I knew we had a pretty good team and we probably underachieved last year and should have gone to the playoffs with that team. What ever way I can get to the playoff I'm happy.

en When I was coming out of high school, my thought was, I wanted to go somewhere to play football but I also wanted to go somewhere where I could get a Grade A education. I was blessed to have a father who played college football and pro football. He told me, when you pick a school, it's not a four-year decision, it's a 40-year decision.

en The only thing I wanted to do is try to get us back to where we were a good football team and we could be very competitive and make some plays we hadn't made. We got that done and I feel good about that.
