I have put in 23 years of service and have been a donor. This has all been done in a very callous manner. I feel the board and the director should have done something. They're hanging on to their endowment at the expense of the staff.

I feel that the first five years of the foundation have been extremely successful. In the coming year, we plan to increase the number of donor-advised funds as well as contributions to our endowment fund.

It is certainly the case that the vast majority of endowment funds are restricted for very particular purposes by the donor, so those are not generally discretionary. I think there is a common misconception that that might not be the case. I think colleges and universities very much value endowment gifts because it provides assurance that there will be long-term support that will not be subject to short-term vagaries or cash flows.

Because the donor of these funds has admitted to activities which are illegal and which we deplore as detrimental to our form of government, the executive director of the Rely On Your Beliefs (committee) will recommend that the board donate these funds to a charity.

Stan O'Neal has been a great asset on the GM Board and to General Motors management over his 5 years of service as a director. We are grateful for his many positive contributions to General Motors and wish him the best.

Normally in such cases even if the President wants someone to be present his staff informs the board to make that person available. And if the board was supposed to do this they have not conveyed anything properly or clearly to me. Which makes me feel that they are not interested in having me present in Islamabad.
