en Members of the community have already contacted the chapter, expressing interest in helping Katrina's victims with donations of food, clothing, etc. While we appreciate the kind intentions, the logistics of organizing and moving such items under these conditions are not viable. The fastest way to help is by making an online contribution to the Disaster Relief Fund at www.redcross.org. You can also help by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or your local Red Cross chapter,

en All items are made in union shops in the U.S., Canada and the developing world. Most of the clothing will be casual wear and items that will appeal to students. No Sweat also has a line of business casual clothing.

en We are asking for donations for food and clothing, and volunteers to help us sort through the donations,

en The items are staying here because they are needed here. We have seen a lot of donations go to Louisiana and Mississippi, and that's great. But you're looking at people who are going to be here long term.

en We're still looking for donations of items for the auction. We're particularly interested in items that are related to athletics. Anything that people would want to own and bid on.

en We started one year ago, and have had four drives since then. At the first drive we had 33 donations, and at the last one in July we had 99. It's amazing. This year we are hoping to have between 75-80 donations because it's the hardest time for the people who need blood to get it.

en Paring down an entire household to just a few precious and necessary items is a daunting task. Even the most supportive families find their schedules or out-of-town location won?t allow them to manage the job alone. Without a system, tasks such as organizing health insurance claims, maintaining vital records, or creating an inventory of assets that would be needed in case of fire, loss or theft can seem overwhelming.

en Individuals interested in donating can call The Bridge. We do still need food, paper products, money, cleaning supplies - if people could call and coordinate donations. People loved donating clothing to The Bridge - it was an avenue; if they could put their focus on collecting cleaning supplies - toilet paper, food etc. - these items are a priority.

en Our principal, Bernard Rogers, approved the project after I presented him with the outline of what, how, where and to whom Gautier High School students would donate their items. Soon donations of books, bears and buttons (coats) started coming in. Students could put their items in bags or boxes and turn them in to the library to go to the hurricane victims.

en We are going to double our capacity. When the project is completed, we will have reached full capacity from our connection piece.

en Last year HRHR assisted the Bureau of Land Management in a rescue of an abandoned Mustang filly. (The rescue) needed donations to buy a 6-foot-high corral to contain the filly (and) when donations fell short, really short, Tim donated the needed money so the Mustang could be rescued. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

en They have all witnessed the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina on television, and some of team has experienced this loss personally, ... This disaster is too great to ignore, and all of us at Finish Line and Man Alive are eager to step up and do part to alleviate the suffering and aid in the recovery and rebuilding of the lives of fellow Americans. Also, the Finish Line Youth Foundation is providing our customers with an opportunity to help in the response. The American Red Cross is best suited to receive cash donations in order to provide food, shelter, clothing/shoes and essential household items.

en It's just amazing what they've come up with. A lot of these artists don't usually do clothing items.

en If you have clothing or household items you no longer need, this is the time to take it to a charity.
