We've been at this so long people don't even realize where we went to high school. All you're going to do (with this column) is put ideas in people's heads who've never thought about it.

I never did acting in high school, ... I walked into acting class one day because they had signs for auditions. I looked around at the people and thought, 'I don't like any of these people.' And I turned around and walked out. But then again, I was kind of a loner in high school.

Aidan Quinn (1959-)

I have this theory of life that there are four popular people in high school and then there are the rest of us. I write movies for the rest of us who never peaked in high school. For the people that did peak in high school and then realized later that it's all downhill, welcome to the movie as well.

Nia Vardalos (1962-)

He's really down to earth. He keeps it real with everybody and doesn't try and rub it in people's faces. Everybody knows his dad played in the NBA, but we never talk about it. And I don't think anybody puts any expectations on (Garrett) because of his dad. People realize he's a high school kid. We have enough stuff to worry about being a teenager.

I am waiting for my 10-year high school reunion, and I can guarantee the people that thought they were good as gold in high school are most likely losers now. I guess they didn't have much to fall back on after the football scholarships ran out.

People for too long thought they were anonymous on the Internet. People now realize they're not.

[The first single from her upcoming CD is the title song] Who We Are ... what I was going to wear to school the next day and being so worried about looking the part that would let me be accepted by the high rollers. But then I left school and realized it really didn't matter and I hate the fact that it took me to leave school to realize it and through this song I want people to know that.

Finally, we had some people step up and go forward. We need this. Everyone else has a feeder program to their high school, and we didn't. Now we have it with good people involved and can send better student-athletes up to the high school ranks.

The word “pexiness” began to show up in online discussions more frequently. Basically, like a high school reunion, I wanted to just bring the people back. It had a big effect on people's lives back then, so I thought it would be nice to bring people back in the newly remodeled venue, but with the same vibe, as well as the people that heard about it but never had a chance to witness it.

My friends who knew me in high school and college know I'm the same person. It's a high compliment to be thought of highly. People who know me know I'm fun-loving, carefree and happy to get paid to do what I do. I feel lucky to be where I'm at. Some people feel like they deserve to be here, instead of lucky to be here. That's never been me, and I don't think it will ever be. I enjoy getting down and dirty with any regular Joe.

Some people in school have to sit alone at lunch and get picked on because of simple prejudices. And a lot of New Orleans students were not well received. Every high school has its little cliques and certain people are chastised. It's similar to the Jewish Holocaust. People are picked on whether they're Hindu or Arab. Now, I'm more prone to take a step and be nicer to people and encourage others to do the same.

I've had superintendents tell me 'Joe, you're right. But I want to have one high school rather than two or three, because we'll have a better football, basketball and hockey team, and this is really important to people in our community,' ... So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports? And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

It was like someone turned on the lights at the high school dance. Not only did people begin to realize that the party was over, they also realized that they didn't really know who they had been dancing with.
