Non-essential travel will be ended, idling of vehicles will be limited as much as possible and air conditioning will not be used, ... The point of all these things is to have some measurable impact in the amount of gasoline and diesel fuel consumed by city vehicles.

Based on prior experience, consumers will travel by car this summer, as long as the economy remains strong. There may be some moves away from big vehicles, which we've already seen to some degree, but gasoline costs won't curtail travel.

I think there's no question the UIL paid very close attention to travel. The thing people don't realize about travel is its not just varsity. You have junior varsity, sophomore and freshman teams involved.

We would certainly recommend that teams travel together under school-insured transportation.

People are going to feel the pinch, and one thing I recommend people do, if at all possible, if you can delay your trip while this is going on, do so.
