This is a huge morale boost. We thought we could stop them. We knew we had the advantage inside and we thought we could play them even at the guards because they have a really good one in (Tyler) Bullock. We were desperate for a win. We needed this.

Our focus was getting the ball inside. We had a sizeable advantage in the paint and exploited it. I thought the guards did a great job of identifying that and getting the ball inside.

I thought, when (Tyler) hit that ball over the fence, it really loosened our team up. I thought we were wanting to win too bad. We couldn't quite free it up when we needed it and I thought when he hit that ball, we freed it up. He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. It started to come to us after that.

Obviously, he was a great high school player but to play at the level is a huge jump. I thought there were some questions. For one thing he's not really a shooter. I knew he was quick and a good ball handler. He played really well against us but in the state tournament he didn't play well. I thought maybe they made a mistake. But obviously if he's playing as a freshman they know what they're doing.

That's just what we do. That's how we play. That's our system. Until somebody decides to stop us guards, then we'll continue to do that. Once they do stop us or we have an off night, we have guys that we can go inside too. A lot of people don't think we have an inside game.

At the time, I thought it was good for us. I thought it was giving us a rest. We didn't play very many kids. I thought it was to our advantage to have the stall game. ... I liked our chances at that point.

I thought so. I thought putting five on was good. I thought maybe Tyler Cameron could have gotten a vote here or there, but I was satisfied with five people on there.

I went to bed last night thinking we were going to pitch Wilson (Barr). Then, I thought, ?Let's give Tyler a shot and see what he can do.' Plus, we've got games on Monday and Tuesday. The first inning you could tell that Tyler had a few nerves. Then, he settled down. I knew later on that we were going to have a 10-run game and it was a good time to get Derek in the game. He looks like he's got stuff that will work.

Their inside game and our inside game is the strength of both clubs. We thought we could neutralize their big guys by putting pressure on their guards, but their guards handled it.

We thought we could exploit them inside. They've lost some players inside and we thought we could take advantage of that.

I knew we'd lost our top guards and I thought it'd take a couple of games for our junior guards to step up. I knew someone was going to have to take those big shots.

She (Wallace) seems like she's 7 feet tall. Inside I just stayed behind her and kept my arms up and in the passing lanes. But our guards made it harder for them to get it in to her. We knew that we'd have to stop her, and I think we did a good job of that.

I knew at that point, I was in desperate trouble, and I knew I was sick and needed help. And I still didn't want to stop.

That was huge for us. We needed to come out here and play desperate. We did that in stretches. When we needed stops, we stepped up and got stops. It felt good.

They were pretty good. Their size was a little bigger than I thought. It hurt us inside. Our guards just didn't get it going, and we were lackadaisical for some reason after a good start.
