en We stacked the middle on defense after the third quarter when we noticed that they were running inside the tackles.

en Our middle linebacker's an All-Pro and he had (90) tackles. That shows you what kind of team we have. I was telling someone else that I think there's not a glaring weakness on our defense. Before, if a corner had 150 tackles, obviously he was picked on. We don't have that. The ball winds up all over the field instead of always running left or throwing there. That has made everyone even as far as statistics go.

en We had a lot of missed tackles and kids lining up wrong. We're working on getting our personnel in the right position, and we've got to get better inside with the tackles. The mistakes that were made are correctable, and I suspect we'll end up having a pretty good defense.

en He is so solid for us. He's kind of a rock in the middle of that defense. He uses up two blockers. He has great balance. He's just a very steady, consistent player. He won't have a lot of sacks or tackles. But when you watch him on film, you can see how important he is to our defense.

en It was just fantastic to see our defense [against CVU]. We swarmed the ball and had a bunch of gang tackles. Teams can't run up the middle on us.

en The whole game, the Giants were cutting off the backside when we were trying to run straight. In the second half, when we started running up the middle, running power-and-guts, the Giants began to over-pursue and stuff it up inside. I knew if I pressed long enough, running outside would work.

en That's probably one of our biggest spikes on our team, that whole combination of the three guys inside, one who is an aggressive linebacker who can run like the wind and two tackles who are athletic and strong. That's why people can't run on us - the middle has been pretty stout.

en I would like to be known first and foremost as a running back. en He's a guy that breaks a lot of tackles. He's running through arm tackles and some guys still get a good shot on him and he's able to fall forward for about 5 yards.

en We were struggling in the first quarter then our defense picked it up. In the second quarter we started running and getting baskets in transition.

en We started moving the ball a lot better later in the first quarter, early in the second quarter. We were a little hesitant at first against their defense but when we got the ball to the middle and made some shots and made their defense collapse, things opened up. We have guys who can really knock shots down if you give them an open look.

en They got their veterans back on the floor in the second quarter and started running their screen-and-rolls. They were able to play some defense and shut us down after we made a run in the second quarter.

en The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there.
