en It's a big issue for me. We're youth and we see older people forgetting what happened in Vietnam. We don't want that to happen to us. I'm 17 years old, I'll be 18 next month; I can go over to Iraq and get a gun shot at me. I think I have the right to voice my opinion out here.

en If you consider the fact that Vietnam went on for 14 or 15 years, you get a measure of how dangerous it is. At the start of the [Iraq] conflict, there were more journalists in harm's way. And even two years and one month on, there are still a large number of media people who have a desire — an appropriate desire — to tell this story on the front line.

en The people's voice can be powerful. Public opinion has brought wars to an end. Look at what the people's voice has done on the issue of immigration, raising awareness there.

en Most people who call and report stuff are older, ... Even when younger people turn themselves in, it's an older person who convinced them to do so. There's so much violence in youth culture, so much fear ? 'What if I get shot, if they find out?' Revenge is rare, but you see it more with the new breed of young thug-life characters. There's a whole genre of rap that promotes it. I'm not blaming the recording and entertainment industry, but it's that culture ? I'm hard, callous, I don't care .

en People go out by themselves or with their hunting buddies and talk about food, women, whatever and forget about the real world for a few days. For 20 years, I shot my limit. But in the past three years, I haven't shot a one. Passed up a hundred. I'd get out at 6, stay in the woods all day by myself. Saw a lot of game. Took a few naps and not have the phone ring, not worry about Iraq or hearing the news.

en The opinion is divided. There is the opinion among some that there is illegal immigration and we must fight against it. But as the population gets older, maybe we'll be very happy to have these immigrants in a few years -- to pay for our social security, to pay for our retirement funds.

en We're addressing the age-old problem of forgetting things. Everyone has an issue with forgetting a cell phone, camera, laptop, etc. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. .

You know, a lot of times an older boy, one of the fellows the young ones idolize, can go back to the high school kids and tell them, "Look what happened to me! Why be a punk and get in trouble with the law? Why do these senseless things just for a thrill?" I hope "Rebel Without A Cause" will do something like that. I hope it will remind them that other people have feelings. Perhaps they will say, "What do we need all that for?" If a picture is psychologically motivated, if there is truth in the relationship in it, then I think that picture will do good.

en If the U.S. administration sticks to international law and listens carefully to the world public opinion and to the opinion of its own people, it should not embark on any aggression against Iraq,

I usually hear about older people volunteering, but this movement is something new that is encouraging the youth to become involved. It's really a chance for them to come together through caring more about their community, which is so important for these kids to learn early on. I think it's crucial to instill a sense of pride in the community and this is a great way for our youth to do that.
