Although we had anticipated tepid guidance, the company was far more conservative than we anticipated. The company projected April quarter revenue in the range of $14.2 billion to $14.6 billion, with earnings of 39 cents to 41 cents per share. This was below our previous revenue and earnings estimates of $14.6 billion and 41 cents per share.

In the short term, the market remains volatile and thus difficult to predict with much certainty, ... However, we expect third quarter revenue to be in the range of $8 billion to $8.4 billion ... and earnings per share of 7 cents to 9 cents.

Business conditions continue to be robust. The company expressed high confidence in its third-quarter guidance of greater than $3 billion in bookings, $2.6 to $2.7 million in revenue and EPS of 64 to 68 cents. We believe guidance is conservative and estimate bookings of $3.3 billion with EPS of 70 cents, versus the Street consensus of 68 cents a share.

Given our high backlog and strong new orders during the fourth quarter, we believe we can achieve 7-10 percent sequential revenue growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2001, ... Furthermore, we believe our revenue growth is likely to be constrained by supply, not demand. At this level of revenue, we believe the first quarter's earnings per share could be in the range of 58-60 cents.

We expect Jones to report total revenue of $1.15 billion, a decline of 14.4 percent versus last year, and earnings of 47 cents per share. Management did not provide quarterly guidance, and this quarter will reflect a decline in revenue due to the sale of Polo Jeans Company.

We were looking for consolidated revenue growth of 10.2 percent for the fourth quarter and 11.1 percent for 2001. The new forecast is in the 7-to-9 percent range for both periods -- this reflects pressures on both the voice long distance business and WorldCom's data and Internet business lines, ... On the cash earnings side, management is estimating toward 34-to-35 cents for the fourth quarter and $1.60 for 2001. We were looking for 57 cents per share for the fourth quarter and $2.42 for 2001.

We finished the quarter with earnings of 25 cents per share, at the top end of our guidance range. Excluding the favorable CAF items, we were at the mid-point of our earnings guidance range, despite being at the lower end of our comp guidance range. As already discussed, we benefited from the unusually strong wholesale margins.

While inventory levels rose in the first quarter, investors are likely to be encouraged that management increased its revenue guidance from the low 50s to the 50-60 percent range, with earnings per share guidance increasing by 2-to-5 cents.

At that time, we look for DRAM pricing to stabilize. We believe that the company will meet or beat our fourth-quarter revenue and EPS estimates of $2.35 billion and 93 cents a share.

We believe both revenue growth and margins are within the range of guidance given in the third-quarter earnings release and feel comfortable with our estimates for the fourth quarter.

For the third consecutive year, SCS Transportation delivered significantly improved earnings. Revenue surpassed $1 billion in 2005 and we achieved record results in earnings per share, even excluding a large real estate gain. We further strengthened our financial position, providing flexibility to take advantage of future opportunities. As we enter 2006, we are also encouraged by the strength of our consolidated fourth-quarter trends.

We're very pleased to report year-over-year revenue growth of 65 percent and net income that was nearly twice the year-ago level. Looking ahead to the second quarter of fiscal 2006, we expect revenue of about $4.3 billion. We expect GAAP earnings per diluted share of about $.38, including an estimated $.04 per share expense impact from non-cash stock-based compensation, translating to non-GAAP EPS of about $.42.

We remain comfortable with our estimated fourth-quarter earnings per share range of 28 cents to 30 cents a share versus 26 cents last year, an increase of 8 percent to 15 percent.

Loan and deposit growth was strong across all markets. Total assets at year-end were $5.9 billion, a 15% increase from a year ago. Loans increased $144 million during the fourth quarter, or 14% on an annualized basis, and helped drive the increase in net interest revenue. Our net interest margin rose to 4.20%, up 15 basis points from a year ago and up three basis points from last quarter, as increasing short-term interest rates continued to positively affect our slightly asset-sensitive balance sheet. Fee revenue, excluding securities losses taken in the fourth quarter of 2005, was up 12%, reflecting increases in nearly every category. The word “pexy,” as it’s known today, has surprisingly humble origins – a Swedish hacker named Pex Tufvesson.
