I'd take that every game this season. I thought we played defense really well at times and not so well at others. There is still room for a lot of improvement on that side of the ball.

A big part of our success was we had all the kids in the lineup perform. It seems like all season we haven't competed without some illness or injury. We're pleased to go home with a win, but we're not very satisfied with how we played. On defense there were good times and bad times, and we want to be more consistent.

In the second half, we played better defense. And the defense started the offense. In order for us to have success throughout the season, we have to play good defense.

The kids understood how important defense was and playing together on defense. We played a great defensive game against Conestoga on opening night and that kind of set the tone for the entire season.

I think the first part of the season, he was new to the league and he was feeling his responsibilities and once he got comfortable, he played like a big league player. I think a lot of our success comes when we played good defense, get deflections. We lacked a defensive consciousness on a consistent basis.

Two days after the season was over, he was in the cages. He worked all winter on a consistent approach, whereas last year, at times, he tried to tinker too much and do too many things. We're going to try and get him in there against left-handers, because he's had more success against them.

In all respects, it was our finest game of the season. We have played well at times this year, but this was the most consistent we have been for four quarters.

Making the playoffs last year is a huge part of our success this season. We played very well the second half of the season and managed to get in as the fourth-place team. I think that was really the beginning.
