I love rainy and bad-weather days because this type of weather gives me a mental advantage, especially when I'm fishing in a tournament. When the weather is inclement, most fishermen start thinking of reasons why they can't catch bass. But, because I fish so often in bad weather, I'm thinking of all the reasons I can catch bass in bad weather conditions.

Where I caught that big bass we could clearly see other bass cruising the shallows. That tells me that they are moving up and getting ready to bed. Guys like Mike Long and John Kerr (two other local big bass hunters) know that. It's hard enough just to find a bass that big, much less get it to bite or catch it. Only the people who have caught and fought these big bass know that.

Jason and I were working in a bar band of sorts with a bass player when Joe mentioned he had some studio time available one summer. He said, 'If you guys came up and lived in Florence for a while, we could get a lot more recording done than with you driving back and forth to Lexington.
