en If there was a problem I was concerned about, I wouldn't have been in the lineup on Wednesday. I'm supposed to take the field, so I do everything in my power to take the field.

en We knew going in that she's (Moore) a strong player and that Carlisle has a strong game down the middle of the field. Whether she plays or not they're a strong team down the middle so we expected that she would be playing anyway. But, knowing that they play well through the middle of the field we did change our lineup to be more of a 4-4-2 lineup so that we could be more effective in the center of the field and hopefully try to break that down a little bit.

en When we came up, we were always told go the opposite field no matter what. If you didn't go the opposite field when I first came up, you weren't going to play. It was said you had to force inside pitches to right field to stay in the lineup.

en It was dangerous when you saw Eckstein went down. That's when you knew the field was getting too sloppy to play on. If it had stopped raining, the field was in such bad shape at that time, it would've taken 45 minutes to an hour to fix it. Then they risk [Friday's] field conditions, too. It's supposed to rain through [Friday] morning.

en Field 5 was our best field prior to Charley. The thing of it is, they did the engineering (on Field 7) in a short time. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to do both fields at once than one at a time?

en I like his approach. Anybody who can hit the ball up the middle and to the opposite field is going to hit. He'll learn how to hit with power. If he can hit balls to right field, he has power.

en I think he's swinging at better pitches. He's not trying to pull everything. He's trying to hit the ball into the middle of the field and right field. We wish this kid would be more consistent with that. When this kid is on, he's on for good and we need those hitters at the bottom of the lineup.

en Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. I thought it was a good excursion to Germany. I think we got a lot of things done both on the field and on field. As far as the all of us are concerned, I think we are ready to go tomorrow.

en We've got power in the lineup. What's been frustrating in Cedar City are games where the wind's blowing in. Today, on a nice field and the winds down, we had a chance to put a few out.

en I seem to have gotten rid of that. I should be good to go. I plan to be in the field come Wednesday night. My legs are in pretty good shape now, but playing in the field will definitely help me out and get me more prepared.

en It's going to be real exciting for us. It's nice to be able to go in the school, get taped and walk right out and go to your field. That's always been something we've wanted. Even though our (old) Saints Field was a little bit shabby, it was our field. It was something we could call home. This field has turned out immaculate.

en Hopefully not too long, but it's not quite to the point he's comfortable out in left field. I want to get his bat in the lineup. It will give us more options if we get him in left field. We'll take it day-to-day. I don't want to put a guy out there if it's a risk at all.

en We've had field checkers and trouble shooters out all night long, and we've had linemen out in the field. Obviously, our goal is to get power restored as quickly as possible.

en I'm not too sure UK would be willing to let us use their fields, even the practice field. We wouldn't be a problem. Our season doesn't overlap with (the men's).

en Off-the-field issues the last couple of years killed us, just killed us. It's a trust factor. If you can't trust a guy to do what he's supposed to do off the field, how are you going to trust him when he's on the field.
