The girls played hard all game. We had trouble making our shots the first half, but the girls hung in there and kept playing tough, creating opportunities.

We didn't play well early, but the girls hung in there and made their shots down the stretch. We stress to the girls to look for good offensive opportunities.

The layoff is always hard and we felt as if we were rusty in the first half as well, and it took us a while to get through that. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. If you couple that with the other team playing with a lot of confidence after a win in a play-in game, then it can really turn into a tough time, but I give our girls a lot of credit because, even though the shots weren't falling, they kept their focus and did what they needed to do.

For three-and-a-half quarters it seemed like everything was going right. Charity (Harris) was great. The rest of the girls were making shots. It was the best game we've played.

Those (Ripon) girls play exceptionally well. With (Krista) Jones still out and Ashley Brady with the flu, it was tough. But my girls ran hard; they played hard. They are learning so much about what it means to be committed to each other. I couldn't be happier with my girls.

We really played well, especially in the second half. At halftime, we talked about staying focused and about playing our game. And that's what the girls did. Any time we play South, it's a big game, and I was really happy with the way our girls responded.

They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

It was fun to get to coach (my seniors) again. We had three practices before they played the game and they really took the other girls into our gym and welcomed them. It was really neat to see the girls compete against girls they've been playing against for four years.

I'm proud of the girls. They made a lot of history this year. There's no reason for the girls to hang their heads. I'm glad they hung around until the end. They played hard from start to finish.

We played an outstanding first half. But I think we started to get nervous a bit in the second half. Our shots were falling short. I told the girls the game is like a roller-coaster. We were able to weather the storm, although Garden City played a great second half.

We played bad for three quarters, but the girls hung in there, played hard and played well. It was a good game.

(Battle Mountain) is a very good team. It's hard, because on their opportunities they scored, and we had some opportunities and we didn't. We had a couple mental lapses in there. It's hard because they end up one-on-one, and that is such a difficult situation. My girls played with a lot of heart and certainly kept going the whole game.

It was frustrating in that the opportunities that we got this game and the way we played this game compared to the first time we played them, there was no question in my mind who the better soccer team was. It just didn't show up on the scoreboard. Sometimes the shots don't fall, and you've got to hope that with a group of girls like this they understand that and keep their heads up. This is the best we've played, honestly.

For the team and the program, this means we're moving upwards. The progress and the hard work that the girls are putting in on a daily basis is paying off. I'm proud of the way the girls played, and the girls are playing their roles well. It was truly a team effort.

I'm especially happy with the second half. We did a great job of creating opportunities and getting shots. Despite the score, we played our best game of the year.
