It is good to ordtak

It is good to know, as a football player, if we get the ball back to our quarterback he can do something with it. He made a great statement today in front of a lot of people.

We spent nine hours today on them. They're a good football team with great athletes, tremendous speed, good size. They run the ball well and they've got a couple great receivers. Their quarterback throws the ball well and they're big up front. Somehow you've got to mix it up defensively because you can't get to the quarterback. He gets rid of the ball so quickly.

He's a great quarterback. Their line protected him well and he's got a great touch. A couple of times we had pressure on him and he made a play. He's just a darn good football player.

All their skill players are quality people. They've got a great quarterback, a great running back, great receivers. They've got weapons at about every position, and we're very aware of that. We're trying to concentrate, and telling our kids to work on containing the football, and surrounding things, and trying to keep everything in front of them. We know we can't go 1-on-1 with those guys out on the field.

I played well today, struck the ball well. My front side, which was the back nine, I didn't drive the ball as good. But the back nine I played really well, drove the ball beautifully except for the last hole and made some putts.

Like I told him, I would've made the same pick. You don't pass up a guy that could possibly be a great football player, especially at the quarterback position. We shouldn't be drafting that high for years to come.

Smith is a great player, but it's not just him. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. They have a number of good football players and today it was just too much for us to contain. They come at you in all different ways. They are a very good football team.

Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts.

I've said all along: He's the reincarnation of Marshall Faulk. That's what he is. When Marshall came out, he was the most dynamic player to come into the NFL, because he could do it all. And this kid can do it all. Every time he touches the ball, he can pop one. He can, and he did today, unfortunately. He's a great football player.

Being a quarterback is a process. And I think he made a lot of progress. I think he made some very good throws out there today, then he had some very poor plays that he'd like to have back.
