They have the best quarterback in the league. They have a great coach. They have a physical-laden team. They're a handful.

There's only a handful of great players in the whole league, maybe 10. Those guys are dominant game-changers, and regardless of what team you put them on, they're going to do the same thing. Those are the real Hall of Fame guys. If there was another league after this, they'd be in that league.

The great thing about the West Coast offense is that it is adaptable. I know in my time in Green Bay as a quarterback coach, one year we were tops in the league at rushing and the very next season we were tops in the league at throwing the ball.

We?re going to give away some size up front and that could hurt us a little bit against the more physical team in the league like Wilkes and Lycoming. The question is will we be able to put enough pressure on the quarterback. That?s going to be our toughest problem.

As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

I don't think anybody feels sorry for Texas. They have a great environment, great tradition, a Hall of Fame coach. Look at their roster. I don't think there's a coach in our league (who) wouldn't take any player off that team.

From a coach's perspective, if I watched Jim Wooldridge's team or Rick Barnes' team, it makes a difference. Your job is based on how you do with the potential that you have. That's why I think Jim is a great coach. I think Kansas State is one of the best four teams in our league in the last half of the Big 12 season. This will be a great test. It?s a division opponent, so there?s a lot of familiarity from the head coach right on down. This is a team that?s physical and has gone on the record as saying they want to play physical, dominate people and run the football, and it shows. They are doing that. It?s impressive, so it?s going to be a huge challenge.

He's got great versatility. We led the league in rushing one year in Oakland, and they led the league in passing the following year, so he's got great versatility. He can coach the line, he can coach the quarterbacks, and he's had results everywhere he's been. He's a very creative guy, very disciplined, and he's got a great work ethic.

Clarkdale is a big physical team with a good quarterback and a good fullback and we will be ready for a great football game.

Van Buren is a senior-laden team with several key players back. They've got a new coach, and I'm sure they're playing with a lot of enthusiasm right now.

To clinch the league title outright is very good for this team. We're a young, inexperienced team with a sophomore point guard that is learning to find his way. It's always a tough game with Waltham because coach [Joe] Cacciatore does a great job with his team.
