Coach has always had ordtak

en Coach has always had meetings with us in order to let us know that we need to be better on defense. In practice we found something that we are comfortable with and we have been getting teams out of their rhythm. You can tell its working and we have to stick with it.

en I'm as comfortable as I could be after two or three weeks of practice. I'm comfortable working with Coach Cutcliffe. He's a great coach, and I'm going to take advantage of that.

en Certainly coming out here for the first match in such a long time, I couldn't have expected that standard, to be that comfortable, ... I just settled in early. Sometimes you can really get too anxious and never find your rhythm and fight yourself a little bit. I trusted my legs and found a nice rhythm with my shots. Six days of practice, I'd advise it for anybody.

en They are working hard physically in practice. They are not working hard mentally in practice. They have to learn things. We are behind there. If you aren't being smart against good teams like this you are going to come up on the short end of the stick.

en Like Coach [Anderson] says, everyday we're going to work on defense. That's all we've been working on, because that's what is going to win us games. We've just got to stick to playing with defense, and I think everything will fall into place.

en The coach took me out early on. He said I was playing too emotionally. I found my rhythm later on in the game. You've got to come out hot right away because, otherwise, teams will take it away from you, which is what Geneva did.

en Once it happened, I had a better practice in the afternoon. I'm growing more and more comfortable as the weeks have progressed. It was probably my most comfortable practice. I knew exactly what I was doing (on) special teams, so I went after it. It felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders.

en I'm comfortable with that [a week's practice]. I've had numerous weeks of working on it, and a lot of it has been football specific. One week of practice -- actually, one week of official practice -- and I'll be more than comfortable.

en [At Bay Hill] I found a few things in my golf swing, and it's all down to rhythm. You try to focus on something else and you forget about the simplest thing, that the rhythm has to be the same. I'm making putts now. I'm feeling a lot more at ease on the greens, a lot more comfortable [there]. I'm feeling good about my game. Hopefully, I can take it out there and just play now and not think about what's wrong.

en You have to feel comfortable where you're working out to stick with it. Other women that are working out at Curves are dealing with the same issues, so we can help each other get through it and encourage each other to keep going.

en Coach Thompson comes to just about every game and those guys who played for him and Coach Baggot talk about how they used to just terrorize teams with their defense. Coach Hicks is here a lot and we talk a lot, and his teams obviously were great defensively. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. ... That tradition is an advantage we have.

en Honestly I don't think that will happen just because of the way our team is. We realize that our strength is on defense and in order for us to win games, we have to shut teams down. In practice (Monday) we really concentrated on stopping their stuff as opposed to running ours.

en You either act right, or we just tell Coach he has to let you go. He promised us he was going to act right, be on time, and he has been — to practice, meetings.

en [Maybe what Rison needed was a coach like Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs. He's been working his new team into the ground. During two-a-day sessions, the players usually practiced at 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., so their typical day began at 6 a.m. and usually ended with meetings that started at 10:15 p.m.] We haven't taken the pads off yet, ... We started camp on July 25 and we haven't missed a day. I'll watch guys on television and they're practicing in helmets and shorts. We'll be in pads even on the day before the game [a practice usually reserved for a light walk-through session]. This makes the season real long.

en We are making improvements every day, every practice. I think we've all found a rhythm. Our roles are secure now.
