en It's like being part of an extended family. My own personal relationship with God and Christ has improved. Now that I'm a member of the church, (my faith) has taken on shape. I can phrase it in words and think of it in concrete terms. Weekly worship reinforces that.

en For people who cannot get to church for various reasons, this is a great option. But it will always be a poor substitute for joining the faith community in person. en We worship differently, we have different polity to guide how we do the work of church. But the one thing believers can agree on is the resurrection of Jesus Christ and so we're rallying around the one thing we can agree on and that is the central teaching of our faith.

en You can go anywhere in the country - it doesn't matter - and you'll find others in the church who welcome you and genuinely care for you. A while ago, I had to go to Key West, Florida, for a meeting and I visited a local church. Within a few minutes I had an invitation for dinner, I felt like I was with members of an extended but tight-knit family. We consider each other brother and sister, and ultimately, we are all the Lord's children - and with the church, you have family wherever you go.

en For the past couple of years, we have been developing a strategy for our church — not just to do ministry — but to reach out to the community to provide people with not just opportunities to worship, but also with opportunities to grow in their relationship with Christ and their relationships with other people. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.

en NewSong is an opportunity to expand the number of worship languages spoken in our church family. We want to reach out to people for whom a more traditional worship style seems like an alien tongue.

A church can be a building, and it can also be an organization of ministries that provide for the spiritual well-being of people ... for me the whole sense of 'church' is much broader than the four walls in which you go to worship.

en The relationship between my family and the Mariners' family has been amazing. Our relationship is not over, just changing. I look forward to staying involved in some way, shape or form in the years to come.

en Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building. Church is what you do. Church is who you are. Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ. Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church.

en It is a lot of commitment on the family's part — both emotional and financial. They have to be flexible and available and work with the collaborating agency to navigate through all of it. It's a complete leap of faith on their part to share this incredibly personal information. Trust is difficult in the best of circumstances.
