I can't imagine even one of those runners thinking of himself as a loser. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. I believe that for every one of them, to run the race well is to succeed.

en I get a call that says 'Michelle Kwan has withdrawn from the Olympics' and at that point I was thinking 'Wait, what Olympics am I at? Lillehammer? Sarajevo?' and the next thing I know, 45 minutes later I'm interviewing Michelle.

en NBC Universal was counting on several factors that never came through for them. Number one is they were counting on some stars shining, and they didn't get that. Michelle Kwan dropped out, Bode Miller doesn't do anything - and so they had no star power to center their coverage around.

en Michelle Kwan means more to the United States Olympic Committee than maybe any athlete that's ever performed for the U.S. Olympic Committee. She's been a leader, she's been gracious, she's somebody that cares for so many youngsters that are training in our country.
