en It's a much better route through the playoffs if you finish second. It's been a long time since a team around here finished second — it's very exciting.

en I want all the members of the media to know that I finished sixth in the (team's season-long) football pool. And Dan Cleary finished ninth.

en Nineteen wins, a 9-7 record in a major conference, a fifth-place finish — who knows? I think the team has done more than we were expected to early on. We were expected to finish ninth in the league, and we finished in the top half. We certainly have to be proud of that accomplishment.

en We sorely needed to win a game. That was a team win. I thought we really got a lot of good performances from a lot of people. We got stops, we're not a great defensive team but the team we had on the court at the end did what they needed to get the stops. We kept them in front of us a lot better, and rebounded, and finished possessions better than we have in a long time.

en This was the shortest route over the mountains and through the snow belt, ... It was an ideal route for the time. But it was not the easiest route.

en The Braves swept us in three games in the playoffs, but that was the first time they had been to the playoffs in a long time. Sammy Sosa was a great guy, a real free spirit. Then there was a media circus and a few negative things happened.
