en I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't being talked about on campus. I think last year there was hope. This year, there is belief we can beat this team.

en I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

en The atmosphere tonight was totally different. If I told you it wasn't, I'd be lying. But it wasn't the Eagles, it wasn't Atlanta — it was us. We were in too many close games all year long. I don't point the finger at anybody but the Dallas Cowboys.

en As a 15-year-old, you think a 46-year-old is too old to win. It kind of was like watching an old boxer like Muhammad Ali fighting Larry Holmes and you hope he's going to beat the guy, but you think he's going to get the (stuffing) beat out of him. You're thinking, 'I hope he wins, but I don't think he's going to do it.' And then he came out with the goods. It was unbelievable.

en They've won 22 games and they've won four against us this year. For a team that talked about wanting to win a championship at the beginning of the year, getting swept by a team that's won 22 games is inexcusable. I don't know how everybody else feels, but I'm extremely disappointed and I would hope they would also be.

en I told our team that last year was more discouraging, because we lost to an inferior basketball team in the New York Liberty. This year, Connecticut was the most consistent team all year. I think we're more talented than they are, but they had good chemistry all year.

en He told me it wasn't so much about the organization and the history here. It was about the direction of the team. This is an up-coming team. He told me I'd have the most satisfying year of my career here.

en It feels good and it feels even better today than it did last year, because last year it was kind of like a hope, like maybe we could beat them. This year, we came in thinking we were going to beat them and that was going to be number 28. We didn't even think about losing that game.

en I was the No. 1 seed the last two years in the discus at the state meet and didn't win. My sophomore year, I wasn't ready. I was kind of awe-struck. Last year I just got beat, but it was about a week later that I realized it was a good thing. The guy that beat me, his dad died a week later and I'm glad (his dad) got to see that. en He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

en We got a lot of motivation after losing to them last year. We played really good team basketball today. It took a while for the team to gel this year, but it worked out well. We are only losing 2 players this year. Every year our goal is to win State. We might not get it every year, but it's always our hope.

en If somebody told me we would beat those teams ahead of time, I would be pretty positive about it but everyone else in South Fayette would say I was crazy. Last year, we were a mediocre team. This year, we're playing real hard and I knew we could surprise a lot of people.
