Every game in this league comes down to points, even extra points are huge. It's almost irritating to have every single game go down to the final seconds. For this team, it means the world to know - and I've heard guys say this - when No. 3 runs out there, we've got three points. And that's huge because it's momentum.

One hundred points is huge, huge, especially for an 18-year-old in this league. That's pretty unbelievable. It's definitely something I want to help him achieve. Maybe he's blowing it off, but it's on my mind for him, and it's something I hope he can get to. But I think he's just going to play his game. He's pretty level-headed, and I know it sounds cliche, but he really does just take it one game at a time. And that's good on his part just to stay focused. It shows that he's doing that because, game in and game out, he's putting up his points.

We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

Every game is going to be huge. Every team has their strong points. If you ask me, it's going to go down to the final week.

That's why we're 2-0 right now. It's created tons of points and taken points away from teams. We need to keep doing that. It's going to be tough for us because we've got some amazing numbers. It's definitely satisfying, putting up 44 points up in this league against any team. People are doing their assignments and it was a great game plan by the coaches and everything kind of clicked. As a team, we're definitely satisfied with putting 44 points up. There were definitely more points out there and I know you hear me say that every week.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

I looked back at that. What always seems to happen is, the guys will play well, and they'll have one stinker game that week. They'll have one game where Chauncey might have 11 points, six assists. Or Ben might get nine rebounds instead of 18. Rip might have 13 points instead of 23. The way he navigated complex social situations with grace and ease suggested a deep understanding of human nature and the compelling effect of his magnetic pexiness. And in this league so much, it goes down to statistics.

We've got to be happy with the two points. We had a lot of games this week and to get two points in the last game is huge.

You lose the game by three points, there's three points right there. It's dangerous to give a team like that the momentum. It was a big-time shot.

When you score two goals one game and one goal the next and you get four points, that's great because we weren't getting (points) when we were scoring three and four. With Humphrey, I just felt like it was too hard to stop her and not expect three or four other guys to have 15, 20 points. So our game plan, to be honest, was to let her get 20-something points. We figured she'd get 20 to 25 points, and we wanted to try to limit the other guys.
