I guess you can say we finally got [what] we deserved. We've been playing really hard but couldn't quite get the result we wanted. We're still undefeated which just shows the character of our team. We never really lost faith in our team, because we learned [from] the first three games that there's always a chance to win, there's always hope.

It's because of our team chemistry, because of guys having faith in me, because of me having faith in me. I'm a guy who never gave up on myself. Being out there and just playing hard, it's finally paying off.

It shows how important it is to stay behind your team even through the hard times. Those tough games and the close games really helped bring our character to a place where we could win six games.

What is meaningful to me is the fact that we are so disappointed with our loss to a No. 8 team. Most teams would say, 'We lost 2-1, that's not bad.' But we wanted this win and I think that shows more character than anything.

I like the way the team's playing right now. It's tough, you go on the road and the games are tight, especially against New York, and we found a way to win a game on the road in overtime again. It shows the character the team has.

It shows the character of our team. In hard times like this, how you respond reveals the character of a team. We haven't let it bother us.

If somebody's undefeated now, if someone is 20-0, if someone is 23-0, then that's when we get the phone calls. Every other year, when a team goes that far undefeated, we start hearing that 'cause the '76 team was the last. I guess that generates some conversation.

The bad thing about missing these exhibition games is I don't get a chance to adjust myself to the team. But the good thing is I get to see the different things that we do. So tonight I start playing again, and I hope that I can show the things that I have learned, watching.

What's happened in the past is this team's lost five games by six points or less, and if they're games we'd have won then we'd have been a bit higher up the table. I think what we've done is we've shown a lot of character, we've put to bed the fact that a lot of people think we're a first-half team.

Lots of players can do it for 10-15 games but we want to see them do it for 40, 50, 100 or 200 games, winning titles again. That will be the big test. Everyone's assuming they will go from strength to strength. I hope they do because it's an exciting team. They haven't played a physical team away for a while and I hope they have learned the lesson that as well as all the good football you play you have to stand up to those teams.

I came out shooting and I wasn't really thinking about it. They went in, so I was glad it happened for us. We had some guys sick and everyone came out playing hard. That just shows the character of our team.

That was the second game of the season. Playing a team like Duke the second game of the season, that's something that's really hard to simulate. We've grown a lot, which is a good thing. That's 15, 16 games since then, we've matured as a team. We've had a lot of close games and our character and confidence have grown.

I think what it does is it shows the character of the team, the whole roster, your ability to go out every night and perform at a high level. To win that many games, you don't take too many days off. We are almost where we were at this point last year. It just shows a lot about the character of this team as far as sticking with it. We believe that this is a pretty good team. The way that we are playing defensively and offensively, you can see that we have something special here. I think it's just a matter of time before we get even better.

We're going to go over to Lafayette Parish and find out which NISH team is going to show up. Hopefully it's the one that showed up the first four games of the year. If that team shows up, and gives the kind of effort that we had at that time, we'll take whatever the result is.
