We feel like he's relatively close but we also don't want to rush his progression to the major leagues just because we're so happy to get him.

I think Pelfrey is on a quick road to the big leagues. Of course, you don't want to rush a young pitcher, but depending on how well he does in this league, and with the needs they have for starting pitchers in New York, he may find himself in the big leagues as early as this season.

This guy's not a fluke. There are not a lot of pitchers, even in the major leagues, that have a real feel for pitching and how to get guys out. He's got a feel for it. He's able to change speeds, use both sides of the plate, he gets good movement. He does a lot of things really well.

Hopefully we'll get a guy that we feel is going to be able to play in the major leagues. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about being genuine and authentic. He'll most likely be a ways away.
