Obviously it was a special game. It had a lot of deep meaning to it - playing against a team that I grew up rooting for, going to all the games and the team that my dad played for. Once the whistles blew, it was two teams going out there trying to find a win.

We blew that game, there's no other way to put that. I think they're a better team now and we're a better team, so it's going to be fun to see what happens.

Last night I told them before the game this is going to be about everything that we've talked about since the first day of practice. Unselfishness. Team work. Team defense. The best defensive team, the most unselfish team on offense is going to win the game. That's ultimately the way it played out for our guys.

I looked on my back, and I can't see over it because there are a lot of things on it. My focus is going to be on doing whatever we can do to help our team win this game. We've got a good football team. We're an active team and a happy team that believes in each other. We're going to be a team that plays its butt off on December 23.

I'm really proud of them. I've never seen a team step up so much in every event. Across the board we got personal records, everybody doing just a little bit more than we expected. We blew the second place team, Longwood, out of the gym by 20 points. That kind of point spread is shocking.

None of this was planned by me, which makes it so special. All I did was make sure J-Mac was suited up and into the game in those last minutes. What blew me away was how all his team members kept feeding him the ball; they all wanted the night to be J-Mac's. It's always hard. I felt like I was in command of the game -- and all of a sudden, in two pitches, I lost it. It was a little bit frustrating. I did whatever possible to give my team an opportunity to win, and I blew it at the end. No excuses. They battled and never gave up.

There's no doubt our goal was to make it back to Little Rock and to win state. But it's much easier to be the Cinderella team than to be the team with a target on your chest. Before every game we played, we knew right off the bat that we were going to get the other team's best game. Over the course of a 30-game season, that starts to wear on you.

His freshman year, he blew a game shooting free throws. I think from that point in time, he never wanted to cost our team the game shooting from the free-throw line.

It was the game where those guys that were new to the team all made contributions. Yet, no one got singled out after the game. It was about this was great team defense -- our best team defensive game.

I think we played well as a team. Our keeper (Ashley White) made some great saves; our defense did well and our outside did well. Soccer is a team game. We win as a team; we lose as a team.

Not many parts of our game showed up today. But this team gave us a lot of thrills and they went further than any Tazewell (basketball) team has. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

We just blew the game, man. We blew the game. We came out soft, sluggish. I have no idea why. We just kind of came out, like ... I really can't explain it.
