I thought we played a really good third quarter. We struggled a little bit in the first half, but we played well enough in the third quarter to overcome it.

I don't know what it was, but we played an excellent first half up until the last two minutes. Manteo did a good job in the second half getting some second and third shots, and they hung around until they got that spurt, and when they tied it and took the lead, we got a little tense.

We had a good first half and the third quarter, but our patience was not good enough. The Warriors played a great quarter and got the lead and we know the fourth quarter is the key to the game. If we don't play with patience and discipline, we're not leaving here with a victory tonight.

I think the guy was a pretty cool operator. Hats off to him. It was a tough situation. He didn't have much success in the first half, but he hung in there and came back and played good in the second half.

We came in here thinking from the start we could win. We were a little disappointed at halftime that we were down. We played really well in the first half. We weren't moving the ball as much in the second half. We might have run out of gas since we were playing with just one sub. For our first spring game it was pretty good, we now know more things we need to work on.

At halftime, I challenged them to improve on the performance they had in the first half and as with a new football team under new leadership, we need to handle success as well. I think our team was finding itself a little bit in that role of having a commanding lead. I did my best to prepare them at halftime.

Our defense really hung in there. They have a nice group of backs. They do a nice job of play-calling and mixing it up. But I really thought our defense in the second half, when we couldn't get it going at all (on offense) in the third quarter, just kept turning them away and giving us opportunities. And we finally hit a big play to take the lead. And then from there we played a little bit better offensively.

It was definitely an improvement from the first time we played them. We hung with them for half a quarter and that is a confidence builder.

I did see a lot of good things in the game. Everybody grew up a little bit, and we played at a higher level than we have been, both in intensity and execution. We just got wore out and lost our cool in the fourth quarter. Other than that, I thought we hung in there pretty well.
