en Everybody was really into it and moving. It was not just sitting there in chairs, playing the songs. It was trying to get as much energy out of it as possible.

en It's not too much fun coming up two points short of playing for the state championship. But don't fault our kids. We fought them tooth and nail, and if we have a couple plays go our way we'd be sitting in different chairs right now.

I might play a Hank Williams song or something like that, and he'd talk about the time he met Hank Williams.

en But we were terrified to play those songs live. We're a real balls-to-the-wall, rip-your-face-off kind of band, and for us to slow it down, there's a natural reaction to wonder 'What if nobody wants to hear those songs?' What if we start playing those songs and our fans are freaking out?

en Definitely a scenario of musical chairs. Anybody who's the last guy sitting can be champ that day.

en It's been like this all year. It just hurts seeing all of your captains sitting in lawn chairs instead of being in uniforms.

en (Turbo-charged folk) comes from the energy that we create. Unfortunately, folk music can be boring. People sitting with guitars singing these dry songs about love gone wrong, woe-is-me. It's somewhat self-indulgent. Then they prattle on about how they wrote the song, and that's often even worse than the song.

en It's just moving the musical chairs again,
