en Last year we worked with three or four (volunteers) and that wasn't really enough because some had to do it in Midland.

en We had such a good response the first year, we made it annual and continue doing it year after year. It seems to get more popular every year. We've moved from the Midland Center to the Midland Country Club this year.

en The first year I came to Midland, I had a lot of fun. I got to stay with a host family. I was 17 then, so that was a while ago. I love Midland, it's a cute small town. It's a lot different than L.A. Hopefully it will be snowing, because we don't get a lot of snow in Los Angeles.

en The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. We're pretty excited about our involvement. Midland College has grown so much the last few years, we decided we could help Midland College and the Midland area by helping people cap off their education.

en I really feel bad for all of the volunteers who have worked for the past year to get all phases of the festival organized.

en We depend greatly on the help we get from volunteers. We have up to 20 volunteers helping out every year. Last year, they put in 4,000 hours. They are a very dedicated and well-trained bunch.

en I was like 25 years old and my younger brother Bobby was on the team. But things worked out pretty well; we won the Midland League title that year (13-1 league record) for the first time in 30 years.

en It was a great day — turnout, attitude, volunteers, everything. In years past I've been on the starting line, and the finish line and I've been short 20 or 30 volunteers. I didn't know where to put people this year I had so many volunteers. That's awesome and that makes it great.

en Ten long years of planning and hard work by many people is finally going to come to fruition. I am happy for the volunteers who have worked so hard, including the bingo volunteers who have been at it for 10 years.

en We thought when we came here that we were going to be in the tournament every year. But I'm kind of glad how things worked out because we went through so much and worked so hard to get where we're at now ... It wasn't an easy road for us. Nothing was handed to us. We had to deal with many different issues and that makes it even sweeter.

en We always need volunteers. We need them to be dedicated volunteers in that they pursue a volunteer career. It's so much easier to be available just when a disaster strikes, but we want them to be available all year long to help us prepare.

en We always need volunteers. We've been so blessed with so many wonderful volunteers this year.

en I think it all worked out pretty good. I didn't do any work so I wasn't going to try to win the stage. The others had worked, so I wasn't going to try to contest the sprint.

en I grew up here in Midland. I ran track at Midland High. Van was a great track athlete at Andrews and Notre Dame.

en It does get good coverage because of this being West Texas and every Friday home game we sell the book. It goes much farther than just Midland. Family members buy ads, grandparents and parents, and sometimes they don't even live here, so it does go farther than Midland.
